Replacement plane blade
Hello John
The photograph you posted is nearly good enough, I printed the photo and working on your measurementts of 30mm blade width & 8mm tail width I calculate a scale of 1 : 1.2.
Working with this scale I get a blade 30mm wide x 45mm from cutting edge to shoulder, and a tail 125 long x 8mm wide.
If you have any corrections to the above dimensions I am happy to oblige you
Regards Gerard

Hi Gerard
Thank you once again. Here are some more pictures of the iron. The wedge is 10mm wide, so apart from allowing lateral adjustment, I'm not sure why the tail (or is it tang?) is tapered from 9mm to 6mm at the top. I think that this poor iron wasn't cared for too well & maybe a previous owner did some home modifications. So I'll leave it up to you as to how wide to make the tail.
Thanks again, have a nice day
