I was introduced to these by a boatbuilder back in the 80s.
Id have about 6 Skarsens of all shapes and sizes plus a stash of blades to suit.
These are a classic item at tool sales where knowone knows what they are and they sell for cents.
I was helping a guy strip the original black paint off his Morgan wood frame a few years back and of course Skansen came up.
Pretty sure he was able to get blades for the little ones from Woodworks Book and Tool Co.
    Scroll thru their handtools.

He can no longer source originals so is offering Pajaritos. The 62mm he has on eBay didn't fit my two Skarsten holders (but holder design may have varied over the years) - viz https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Paint-Sc...53.m1438.l2649

Hmmm, a bit easier to achieve in the digital age than with the old silver-based technology! Or are you persevering with that!?

It would be all too easy to get carried away with the equipment alone, they keep coming out with ever more amazing gear. And with post-camera manipulation of images, it's getting a bit too much for my limited abilities .

I just try to get the best shot I can with my (already dated) fairly basic gear (mostly use a 300mm on a 'half-frame' camera). It's a bit like hunting - requires understanding the quarry, much careful stalking, struggling to gt a clear shot with a bit of composition, and endless patience. For years of effort, I have about 4 or 5 pics that I'm happy with, but not one definitive shot, of anything, yet....

    Cheers,
    IW

For birds in flight I'll take every tech advantage going: 20 FPS without blackout or buffering 30 shots before a full shutter press - these are game changers. Mirrorless cameras of course. M43s make a 400mm lens act like an 800mm one and that's a huge advantage.

As for editing, yes, it can be tedious sitting at the computer and I have resisted, but it can also salvage faults, and there's plenty of those with BiF.
