Default Place your order - Split Saw Nuts, Round 2

As discussed in the EOI thread there will be an order placed for more split nuts pending a response from Mike W.

If we get the same offer (for a BULK order - 100+) as previously we should be able to land them at AU$5 each, plus $5 local postage per order (estimates after discussion with RayG).

The sizes on offer should be the same as before - 7/16", 1/2" & 9/16" (price is the same regardless of size).
STAR posted about his difficulties getting Forstner bits for the */16 sizes - something to keep in mind (see his thread: https://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=104039 )

If you would like in on this deal please post details of quantity for each size you would like.

So far we have the following reponses from the EOI thread:
    Old gunny - 6 x 1/2", 6 x 9/16", 6x 7/16"
    RayG - 10 x 1/2"

    STAR - ?
    Sam - ?
    Claw Hama - 12 x?
    Groggy - ?
    Thumbsucker - 24 X?
    Dion N - ?
    kevjed - ?

Please clarify your commitments and I'll post updates (can't edit this post)
    -Jon-

Is there sufficent interest for a possible saw plate order?

    Hi Jon,

I need to replace 4 missing ones on an ebay saw plus maybe another 4 to keep as spares but I have no idea what size they are (Yes I feel pretty daft right now!!!!!).

I've measured the holes on the handle and one side has an 8mm dia hole, the other a 6mm dia. hole and the larger recess either side of the handle for the 'head' is 15mm dia. The hole through the actual blade is 6mm.

    Does this mean I need 8no. x 1/4 inch size ?

    Thanks for organising this Jon.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Not sure about those smaller holes - 7/16" being the smallest on offer is ~11mm - bigger than both.
9/16" is ~14.5mm and probably about the right size for the 15mm hole.

However I'm as n00b as you in regards to handsaw and others are more qualified than myself to advise on this!

If your saw is a Diston or Spear & Jackson you may be able to find replacement sets from tool dudes - I know Slow6 (Luban @ lubanwhite.com) has some saw nuts from old saws available.

I'm about to post re closing of the order, so I'll put aside 8 undecided bolts for now. (No biggie if you don't need them).
