They make the steel I use. Good product and nice people. If you only want enough for one or two saws, it will be expensive since they only sell the longer rolls (unless they have changed their policy on that). To get an idea of prices, their prices are usually within a few dollars of what McMaster Carr charges for an equivalent size. For example, a roll of 0.020" x 4" x 25' is about $80 plus shipping.

Shipping will be the killer for you. They ship via UPS, and I would guess that they will charge in excess of $100 for that. USPS is usually significantly cheaper, but a lot businesses over here do not want to deal with them.

Richie, as Isaac says, shipping will be a killer. I've bought smallish quantities of steel from a couple of suppliers in the US, and shipping almost quadrupled the cost of the metal. It still worked out at a reasonable cost per blade, so it's really a question of how many saws you plan to make! These guys do rolls of saw-thickness sizes in a useful variety of widths, making it easier to plan for minimum waste.....

    Cheers,
    IW

Hi Isaac. What's shipping within the States like? I don't know about AussiePost, but NZ post now have a base in Portland. We can get stuff shipped there and NZ Post will forward it to a New Zealand address, at more reasonable rates.

    Cheers, Vann.

Rough guess, probably around $20-30 to get it to Portland, depending on how much you buy.

    And the Postage is

I guess I will be doing some trimming of the order, I thought i would try and cover as many different sizes as possible to give everyone an idea of the prices,
    Cheers for now, Richie
