That would be the hard part, might be best asking bobl himself, and angle grinder with a cutting disk should to it. However it is a question of skill, can you cut straight enough and then can you clean up the edges.
Funky, I will ask the laser people if they would or can just cut up some strips for you.

T.S.
just to confirm my blade order, I am after 1 plane blade of 60 x 6 x 200mm, I see on one of the lists that I'm down for 2 of 100mm blades.
Could you also advise which chisel set I am down for, 10 or 6 ?
Thanks.

Ironwood you are down for one blade only.
Everyone is down for a set of 10 chisels unless you ask otherwise.

Hey Thumbsucker, i've been a bit oblivious to this thread and just come across it. I think all the chisel sets are done, but no harm in asking - any 6 piece chisel sets left??? Cause I would be up for one if so.
Cheers,
Will

Any chisels left?
Hi Helmut,
Have been away and not sure if I am down for a set of chisels or not if not and there are any left can I get on the list?
If I have already asked - did I ask for the 6 or 10 set? (having a seniors day today)
Regards
Brendan

With a few people opting for a set of six chisels we now have 1 set of ten left, that is reserved for funky chicken if we are able to do what he needs otherwise someone else can pick it up. So stay tuned. Will chase up Bohler and Rippon on Friday. So we will get details by the weekend.
Brendan1152 I have put you down for a 10 set if that is OK? jackliveshere I have you down for a set of six.
Still have Stanley Bench Plane Blades for No. 3 to No. 8 available.

Hi TS,
Just wanted to get back to you about the cap iron PDF's a couple of pages back.
I would say there is an error in the 2" cap iron diagram as the slot for the adjuster is 1/4'' - this is too wide, should be 4.96mm like the other two (or better - 3/16'').
While I am not after cap irons, I might also suggest that instead of 4.96mm that you go for 3/16'' (4.76mm), this dimension is what all my vintage planes have, more modern ones have 5mm. (My more modern stanleys (1960s-70s stanleys) have more backlash and have a 4.96mm slot).
While 3/16 is only marginally less than 4.96mm, it does not take much oversize here to make for alot of backlash when turning the brass adjuster. Its also easier to file a little bit off if need be than put it back.
Oh, and how much space do we have left for plane irons? Can I squeeze in another one @ 2-3/8'' if possible.
Regards,
Steve

Chisels
Helmut,
Can you put me on the reserve list for a 10 chisel set please.
Slightly annoyed at myself for having asked the question about chisels quite a lot earlier in the thread and having been unable to get back online to see if the idea had taken off........

Hi Steve,
I concur with your measurement of the width of that slot. I found that due its small size, it was tricky to measure with a calliper. I found by far the best method was to drop a drill bit through the slot to test its width. Using this method, I found that the slots on my Hock chipbreakers were 3/16th. None of the metric bits I tried (in .5mm increments) were as good a fit.
I also believe that the slot width is constant throughout the various sizes (3/16). This opnion is based on the clifton site here http://www.fine-tools.com/clift.htm
