TS, I'm happy with the set of 7 and sides only bevelled. Although I'm sure i could set up a jig and bevel the sides if I really had to I'd rather not.

Great idea, a set of 7 chisels seems to be a win-win solution.
I'm in for it.
Thanks for the great work AND allowing democratic input.

Set of seven is fine by me but if they're still up in the $30 to $45 ea price range, I will need to reassess it.
Cheers

Thank you for everyones input.
- It seems that a set of seven would meet the needs of most members.
- Most people would like the side edges beveled, some can life without.
- Everyone seems happy to grind their own primary cutting bevel.
- On Price opinion is mixed, but lower is mostly better.
I have sent Rippon a email I will post back about the chisel by Tuesday next week when I have had a chat with Rippon about prices.

A set of 7 chisels is fine with me also.
I'd prefer the sides bevelled but would take them either way.
Thanks for all your efforts Helmut
Cheers,
Geoff

I'm still in and good with the 7 and 2 bevels.
I have never owned a good set of chisels making do all my working life with stanleys.
Not to denegrate the stanleys which are fine for the abuse I give them but I really want a set of fine working chisels which will stay in the shed. I am not confident that they look as fine as what some members will make theirs but the business end, I am sure, will be superior to anything I currently own and at about half the cost it is the only way I can afford it.
Keep up the good work Helmut we all appreciate the effort you have put into this.Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Options
Helmut,
I am happy to go with the 7 chisel set as price was starting to get right up there as far as my wallet was concerned.
I would like to be added to the brass ferrule gang as well please
And for the cap iron saga, I would prefer to have it tapped with screw peovided if at all possible as I have no tap and die set and am reluctant to buy one tap or die just for this one off job

Attached is the updated CAD file in PDF format of the Set of Eight Fine Pairing Chisels.
If you would like two pieces of 150 mm brass tube to use for Ferrules post or PM me.
The cap iron has been settled and they will come with a cap screw and a threaded matching hole.
