I will wait for the thicker sheet
My vote is to wait for the thicker sheet.

I'm confused Don't what to do, I would like the thicker blades for all my planes ,but if we really have to I'll go for the 3mm size .If they get down to 2.5 I guess they will still be better than the Stanley issued ones.
Prefer to wait for a thicker sheet if that's an option
I've already paid up ,I'm assuming the funds arrived in to TSs' account ok.

Helmut
I've now read through the last 100 or so posts
I'd prefer the thicker blades but will accept your final decison
If it helps to fit the order onto the sheet that is available, I'm prepared to reduce my order by up to 2 blades (one each for #5 and #6 — I find quoting plane size less confusing and prone to error (by myself) that quoting blade width)
Of couse my preference is to remain with 2 blades of each size but am willing to compromise to allow you to get this order away
thank you (and DJ Timber) for everything you are doing

I have been very busy with life however, I have managed to find a solution to our sheet problems.
I have found a means to fit everyone unto the one piece of 800 mm x 3.5 x 2710 mm M2 sheet.
I asked Bobl if he was willing to give up his 200 mm x 1000 mm block (100,000 mm square) from the M2 sheet. Thanks to BobL we have now greatly reduced our over allocation.
In addtion the following members have said that they would be willing to drop some extra blades.
- haosiliu235 x three blades
- Dj's Timber - two blades @ 2 3/8"
- Switt775 - one blade @ 1.75", one @ 2", and two @ 2.375" blades
- Jack E - one blade - What Blade?
- dynoforce - two blades @ 2"
If everyone is happy with this solution, then we can fit everyone on to one 800 mm x 3.5 x 2710 mm M2 sheet.
I will post a new PDF with details, and I will need to give back $48 to Jack E for one blade and cap iron and $58 to dynoforce for the two extra blades with no cap irons. The other listed have at this time not yet paid any funds.

I may possibly get shafted from this forum but is there a possability to get ONE blade and cap for a stanley model number 4 1/2 ? I dont care what thickness?
I have not read through the 23 pages of posts to find out the details but if anything is needed please let me know and I will not feel offended if I can not get in onthis order.
Cheers,

Here is the updated PDF, which now is using a 800 x 2710 mm M2 Sheet for the Stanley Plane Blades. Repeating what I wrote before. Bobl has been kind enough to drop of his 200 mm x 1000 mm block, and I have dropped blades from the following member per their request's.
- haosiliu235 - three blades
- thumbsucker - two blades
- Dj's Timber - two blades @ 2 3/8"
- Switt775 - one blade @ 1.75", one @ 2", and two @ 2.375" blades
- dynoforce - two blades @ 2"
I have sent an email to Warren Spencer telling him we will take the 800 x 2710 sheet. Due to its length it is best that we have Bohler move it for us to the laser cutters, they will charge us $45 for that service.
Hello Warren
After some discussion between members a few members have reduced the number of blades they ordered so that we can fit everyone on to a single piece of 800 x 3.5 x 2710 mm S600 sheet.
I would like to pay via credit card for the M2 and I will also pay the $45 to have it moved to:
Wigley Engineering
16 Zenith Road
Dandenong VIC 3175
Phone: (03) 9794 8311
Fax: (03) 9794 5809
Can you email me an invoice and I will make arrangements to pay the funds to Bohler.
One last request. Could you mark out the direction from which the sheet was rolled out in. I ask this because we would like to get the sheet laser cut parallel to the direction of rolling. So that austinite and marsdenite grains are aligned at right angles to the cutting edge rather than parallel to the edge where they would dislodge in use. Can you arrange you mark it for us?
Yours truly
