Thank you pagie, Helmut, DJ and everyone involved.
My single blade arrived today. If more postage is required to cover the total cost I am happy to contribute.

My single blade and back iron also arrived to-day, and I would like to echo Pete L's thanks. My delight was somewhat tempered when I discovered a 2mm half-moon nick in the cutting edge, about 9mm from the side of the blade. There is a smaller corresponding nick in the attached back iron; I suspect the assembly has been dropped vertically onto a hard edge. This damage is going to take a lot of sharpening to remove, not happy.

Most likely happened during postage, I got some blades off Chris Vesper (Academy blades I think) they were posted out and one of them had a similliar chip in it, the packing had a corresponding nick in it Chris swapped it no worries but it is annoying

Got mine today - thanks to all the hands who contributed to get this done. Next step is the sharpening, but all looks good so far.

    Well done guys,

Chas, I haven't noticed any nicks in any of the blades. Was the package damaged? When I get to the end I will see if there is any spares.

Pagie, one of my large blades has both edges chipped to 2mm in from the edge and will need a fair bit of grinding. I have also noticed the slot is marginally small and will take some filing so the lateral adjuster can fit the slot (you can't file the adjuster or normal blades will be too sloppy). Also, the slot in the iron for the 'Y' adjusting lever needed some filing.

Minor things that can be fixed with some work. Harder blades are more brittle and need care not to be dropped or banged.

(the package was not damaged as far as I can tell)

Slightly concerned I'm not on any of the spreadsheets mentioned above.
    I bought in for 1 x 2" blade & iron, and 2 x 23/8" blades & irons as per post #516.
Thanks for you hard work - sounds like things are getting hectic as this goes down to the wire!
    cheers

Peter, thanks for the offer. The packaging was well done and undamaged. I will go with what I have, rather than involve us both with more postal costs. The blade otherwise performs very well.
    Thanks again,

    Chas.

"Three Blades & Cap Irons weight less then 500 gm’s so you can use a $6 pre-paid bag - You will need 42 of them - TOTAL COST $240 The remaining blades you will need the $11 pre-paid bag - You will need 40 of them - TOTAL COST $440"

Trouble is 3 blades and 3 caps weigh 1200g. Anyone that lives close and want to come and pick theirs up? If they haven't been posted that is. Any way back to the packaging. No rest for the wicked.

Either the supplier has supplied extreme density M2 steel or those leprechaun's are clearly not up to the task of weighing blades for determining postage costs.

If you can post my blades and let me know the cost of upgrading to the appropriate bag I will direct deposit the funds. Perhaps you could also include a highly trained, tertiary qualified leprechaun in the bag with strict instructions to protect the edges and a wad of stiff cardboard or similar to assist him.

    Thanks again,

    Regards

Mine arrived yesterday, thanks. I did find it amusing that the only writing on the cardboard packing was the text "Made In Brazil" - something we don't know about here?

Disappointing that the postage is working out higher than originally thought. Kinda ruins the whole theme of the posts I made many moons ago suggesting people chip in a few extra dollars to give Helmut and DJ something for all their work.

If there are any leftover bits of steel in sizes that are not full blades I'd be happy to take them off your hands, and happy to pay postage on them.

    Thanks Peter.

Mine's arrived safe and sound and looks lethal.

I understood that the charge per blade or blade set included postage for each and I also made a donation towards DJ's costs. But you should not be the meat in the sandwich here so am happy to contribute more.
    Cheers, Ern

Thanks guys. The chips worry me. I have packed them in cardboard and tape. I thought that would be enough to protect them. I have not seen any nicks in them here. I just had another look at the blades left on the table. Still a bloody lot. No chips that I can see. Never doubt the ability of aus post.

    Gumbungle, You are on the list that I have but for 2 x 2" blades, 2 x 2" caps, 2 x 2 3/8" blades, and 2 x 2 3/8" caps.

One pack sent to Canada by sea mail was supposed to be $16.85 was $44.20, the other was $16.85. I have spent most of the money, maybe all, I have to add up all the receipts. I have 20 x 3k. bags I purchased to post blades. the trouble is a lot of the packs are over 3k. the next bag is double the price. We will get it done but may have to pass the hat around again. I will let Helmut know what the final cost when I get closer to the finish. I hope some of the orders are correct.

    Pagie
I might be that Canadian and will of course pay the postage. I am extremely thankful to those of you who have worked hard to make this happen! Just PM me the amount of the difference and the details of where to transfer payment.
