[QUOTE=Chesand;1415946]I have done that but I still need to widen the slot in the blade to fit the sideways adjuster.
Herbie,
I was able to do this with with my Triton equivalent of the Dremel rotatory tool using an aluminium oxide wheel. It was easy enough to do and I widened the lateral adjuster slot over about a 1.5cm span in about 30 mins.
My breakers look like they were ground in a big hurry using considerable force on the grinder because they are both impressively blued at the end an one of them has the side edge end burnt off completely and will require regrinding .
Cheers
Brian

Hi All
Picked up my 2" and 2 3/8" from Helmut in Canberra this week. Thanks to all concerned. Now I have something to do in the holidays

Finally unpacked my blade last night as I needed to plane some ironbark. I had the stones out to shapen by LV LA Jack so I thought I might as well go through the pain of the new 2 3/8" blade.
Took a couple of hours to get them up to scratch. Smoothed the rough edges on both then re-ground the chipbreaker edge as it was rough. Needed to adjust the position of the frog to get enough space for the thicker blade, but managed to avoid having to file the plane mouth. As per other posts, my blade lateral and depth adjusters did not fit. Filed the lateral adjuster, and then used a small grinding wheel on my drill to take 1/2mm of the depth adjuster so it all fits.
Sharpened the blade and all good. Took nice shavings of ironbark, and was magic on any kind of softwood.
Thanks for the effort for all the involved parties.
Cheers,
Tom

I have fixed some minor issues with the 2 3/8 rebate blade and fitted it to the Carter C1 rebate plane. Works a treat. So also does the spokeshave blade - all I had to do was open up the adjuster slots a smidge so the adjuster nuts fitted sweetly. Although I cursed having to do that at first, the consequence is that with a nice tight fit the blade is very positively located and there is minimal backlash in the adjustment mechanism.
A great job well done by all concerned.Cheers

Helmut,
Unfortunately I don't see my name in the list. I have posted several times since I received my order 1 short, both in this thread and have PM'd you as well. I'm not angry - I am mostly disappointed - and just keen to be rid of what has not been a pleasant experience. It just hasn't lived up to expectation in my observing the first order from its beginnings to the quality end product.
I am missing a rebate blade and cap. Hope it can be sorted soon.
Thanks,
Nick
