I think you could get some made if you can't buy them. This especially applies to the blade with the cutter attached using a screw.

You may need the exact dimensions from someone who has a router plane. Contact me if you live close by and you can measure my blades if you want to go in this direction.

Stanley still make blades for the router planes, so you might want to check with them or a good toolshop and see if they can get them in. I know a few places over there (points east) sell them as part of their stock, so a little 'click' shopping might solve the problem too.

A slight correction, Stanley has stopped making the 71 and all its parts about a year ago or more. Stanley USA might still have blades left but when they are gone, they are gone for ever. If not I bought a bunch of the V point blades for the routers I make. I can send you one if you want, or you can waite till I get there and for lunch and a beer you can have one

They must have had enough people say don't stop cause they told me they were not making them anymore - I bought 25 V cutters so I wouldn't run out.

    Hey Sinjin,
How did you go getting the cutters?
I've recently acquired a #71 but it only has one (7mm) cutter and would like to get at least a V cutter as well.

Yup - have a casting in the back of my SUV...

We just received our pre-production castings this week - enough to get rolling on tooling, and testing. Bad news is - the foundry shuts down for 6 weeks for an upgrade.... so we'll still be fall for the release date.

For those sweating blades for a #71 - we'll have those in the fall too....while our router plane is quite a bit different - we did make the blades compatible....

    Cheers -

    Rob
