I picked up a wee vernier last thing which made my day.

Thanks Henry I found that link again this one has Rosewood knob If I can get measurements off yours I'll make one in Brass unless you think I'll be able to pick one up somewhere.? Yes the one I have has the brass lock lever.

I spotted the box of that vernier and the fellow opened it up I almost relented and asked the price. Thats a top piece the largest I have seen was brand new at H&F sale some time ago on their clearance rack.

It was bigger than last year. I came looking for a skew chisel and left instead with a small Simonds hand saw, a brass bevel gauge and a drill press vice. No chisel.

Didn't buy much (only 1 small hammer) but enjoyed looking. Some seriously cool stuff there. It was great to talk with the vendors about some of it. A real education.

I'll be back next year with a shopping list for sure. That is if the house is finished and I have any money left - probably a negative on both counts.

    cheers,
    Peter

This year I went there without any plan of what I was after. Due to how busy I have been over the last month I was not even sure if I could have gone. It was good that time allowed me to attend and I dragged another friend with me.

I ended up with a couple of screw drivers, tape measure, wrench and part of a socket set, that need some cleaning up.

I found a ratchet screwdriver in the dollar bin that was in pretty good condition but as I already have one I put it back. Thought to myself that either a collector or person who will use it would benefit more. Sure enough a person no more then 10 seconds later picked it up. Of course I ended up chatting with the fellow and he said that he has a smaller one so this will be the bigger sized that would come in handy. I may not have purchased it but was glad that someone picked it up who appreciated it.

I ended up chatting to a few people that I knew from previous encounters and this made the event so much more enjoyable.

A big thank you to TTTG for continuing to organizing this event and those vendors that attend.

    Hello folks.

Yes, a grand day need. Managed to divest myself of a goodly amount of kit as I look for some space in the garage. A big thank you to TTTG for yet another terrific event. Count me in for 2017!

    Cheerio,
    Virg.

As I did last year, I took the gentleman woodworker taxi service (thanks Fletty). This year I wasn't after anything specific, so just went to see if anything wanted a new home. I picked up an axe for the back of the 4X4, a couple of plane blades for my Record 405 & old infill, as well as an English Stanley No. 78 rabbet plane still in the box with original waxed paper. I don't think the 78 has ever been used, it still has the $21.95 price sticker on so I'm guesing it's from late 60's to 70's. It was a great way to spend a morning & catch up with a few forum members.
