    Default Used tools

Sometimes one of the problems is knowing where to buy used tools. Markets are often suggested as a source.
Today I visited Daylesford and wandered through the market stalls. (On every Sunday at the railway station.) Both new and used tools were available.
Attached images show some bits for a brace, a collection of planes and a bench drill press - hand powered!
I make no recomendation on the quality or function of the items, but was offered a 9 1/4" Makita saw for $50, rust on base and blade but cord in very good condition. New price about $ 250.

Love the hand cranked drill press that's awesome $$.
We venture over there a couple times a year.
    It's a great little market.
Always seem to have some one selling old tools.

    Cheers Matt

The drill press, which I see is two speed has a little tag with a price of $ 165. Will work even if power is not available. (Does that make it cordless?) Likely to pass test and tag and most OH & S requirements with the enclosed gear box. Remove key from chuck before using. One hand must be on the handle at all times it is in use.

Definitely cordless and should pass and OH & S easily.
Does it still run as fast on Friday afternoon has it does Monday morning.

Yes. Monday is low speed day, Friday is high speed day. Every other day take your pick.

That plane on the left end looks like a 5 1/2. Looking for one of those and that price looks good.

I really like where I live, but it has very little opportunity for such markets as Daylesford. I am a little bit envious.

I've seen flat pieces of metal there too, with handles that look comfortable.
    Sort of like plane handles.
And better teeth than an AFL Collingwood supporter.

Lucky to have a market like that. Nowhere around my neck of the woods selling good old tools.
    Regards
    John
