Some very nice handles there, PM. Looks like you have re-dressed an "old lady", too?

I was just thinking the other day, there are a lot of these home-built saws kicking about now, that look pretty convincing, and when viewed as a group like this, have an obvious shared pedigree. Some will survive and pass on to owners who respect & value their qualities (I hope!), but the provenance & makers will be lost. It will generate some interesting discussions amongst the tool aficionados in a couple of generations' time, I reckon!

    Cheers,
    IW

    Cheers,
    Hi Ian,

The future saw historians, will have internet archives and spend hours matching up images with actual saws, no doubt using some automated image matching software. The lucky ones will discover they have a rare 2011 IanW, or a Stewie, worth a fortune on the 2050 collectors market they tell me...

    Hi Stewie,

I was going to reply on Woodnet, but I'll reply here instead, I agree with Klaus on the brass cross-hatching, that side plate looks really nice, very reminiscent of Woodrough & McParlin side plates. When you see them all together like that, it's very impressive.

    Regards
    Ray

Take two aspirins and call your family doctor in the morning.
