Toothing clear Radiata Pine to take sawn Mahogany veneer / facing on the sides and drawer fronts of this chest, Or Comode.
I traversed planed this with a no 6 which had either a flat blade rounded at the corners , Or it had a shallow camber , I cant remember how it was sharpened at the time now . But try and get it as flat as possible and then let the toothing plane show you how out you were.
Edit . Im just looking in close and I think I was toothing this straight off the thicknesser . I can see machine marks . I do tooth straight off the machine as well for the same reasons. Picture three in from the left is what Im looking at .

Rob,
Pictures will come eventually, but instead of the cauls and battens I'd hoped for, the day produced plants, dowels, poking about in a junk shop, lunch and far, far too much time spent with an uncooperative petrol-powered shredder. I think I have a much broader view of the subject now thanks to your and other's advice.
Greg
