Tuning a Veritas Plane
How much tuning is required on a veritas plane before use? I know that at least a few people out there have the low angle smoother. How much tuning did you have to do before use?

Mat, 2 of the LA Jacks I have played with recently required nothing other than the blade giving a touch up.

I recently got an LA block in The Great Bessey Buyup and all I had to do was sharpen and set the blade.
I imagine that the smoother would be the same.

I got a low angle block, never checked nuffin', just honed the blade.
I just acquired a LA Jack via the Bessey splurge, everything on the body is pretty darned square. One blade was almost flat, only took a couple of minutes, the other was OK, except for a lil' bit right at the cutting edge on one corner, toss up wheter to sharpen it out or flatten, I sharpened, didn't take too long.Boring signature time again!

My opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked, and its price is competitive. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.

Did you at least shake the dust cloth before wiping it down when it came out of the packing?
