Matt,
I don't know how to waltz. But thanks for your kind words.
This is the stand for the back saws.
Graham.

I will probably kick my self for asking this, but how are the saws supported in the rack? Invisible wires, Tek screws, mind over matter, wedges........magnets......?

I think Graham was a victim of the 'rotated pics' fairy.
Nice collections of saws in these posts, a real credit to all of you.

Hi Paul from Qld,
please don't go the boot,
the saw stand is a simple tripod, with a single leg out front, hinged at the top
to two splayed legs with stretcher rail at the back, connected with a piece of chain.
I came up with my design after viewing a lot of other methods of saw storage/displays
by other sawophiles, am I allowed to call us that, hmmmm, it is either a bit over the top
or spot on.
Graham.

It never occurred to me that other people suffer that problem too!

Matt,
I really am sorry for the way this thread has gone,
but can you please tell me, or anyone else for that matter,
how do you post photos in portrait mode rather than always
in landscape?
Also here are the two stands in storage without saws cluttering the view.

I view the world and this forum through my phone.
So I'm able to save pics from here then place them in my photos were I can edit them.
One of the features of edit is a rotate feature.
Boom boom.
Hope that helps,
Taking this thread of course
That's like a right of passage here.
Paul is the grand master of that,
Cheers Matt

based on the discussion in other threads with similar "photo looks right on my PC / Mac / Phone but is rotated in when posted" the problem seems to be concentrated with people who use ithingies to either post or take photos.
I resize all my photos before posting and haven't yet experienced the problem.regards from Alberta, Canada

I was completely focused on the saws themselves and in fact was marveling at how compact the display was so it never occured the pic had the wrong orientation. For pure display purposes, your system is so good, but for permanent storage it would of course be very greedy on space and I assume that ordinarily you do not keep them in those stands. Incidentally I would love to see those saws in more detail in separate thread (we don't want to get offside with Matt). They are worthy of their own thread I think.
Ian
I don't own a mobile phone so always take my pix with a dedicated camera. Several times of late after rotating the images on the computer they rotate back again when posted on the Forum. It is very, very annoying.
Matt
Thank you for acknowledging me as a Grand Master of something. It is in the same vein as asking me if I'm musical. My response is, "I like to play the fool."

Paul, as someone who has seen your collection, that's gonna need to be one serious door!
P.S. I meant to tell you that I used the Simonds 6pt saw you tuned up for me recently to saw through a 300mm x 100mm chunk of QLD Walnut. Took about 220 strokes and about 3.5 minutes. Not bad! That saw has definitely become my dedicated "docking" saw, meaning the first tool to touch many projects.
Cheers,
Luke

I am very serious in my plan to emulate Matt's door except it will be different (there's no room left on his door). So it will be my door, but it won't be for the whole caboodle. Particularly I would like to put the users on it and also selected other saws still to be decided. I am rather excited about utilising the profile of a container door as well as some devious method of concealment/attachment.
This won't go down well at home as all this is seen as detracting from house renovations. However I am actively researching kevlar clothing to span my not very broad shoulders. Any reports of knives sticking out of my back should be treated with the utmost suspicion.
Very pleased to hear you coarse, crosscut Simonds is making the cut.

Paul,
the stands were made up for display purposes only, they hold a lot saws for only a small footprint.
When at home the saws are in their tills.
But you could use a pair of timbers with angled saw cuts, fixed to your door.
You just need to experiment with the angle, depth and spacing of the saw cuts
to see what is best on a moving door.
Graham.

I think I promised a shot of my other wall(door)
well I'm here it is.
To be honest it looks perthetic I'm going to have to look at that it just won't do.
I feel shamed [emoji854]
Cheers Matt
