Weary Disston
I'm trying to lighten the load before moving house so I'm wondering if this old saw would be of any use to someone. As I hope you can see in the photos it's had better days. I'm really busy at the moment so I'd rather someone around Melbourne take it. I travel all around Melbourne on most days.

Simplicity would be the one that needs it. I've sent him a pm about it.

That's great Springwater. I think your saw will find a good home on Simplicity's door in the very near future.
My wall of saw(sounds better with a sinister voice)
It looks to me like a No.112 and because of the medallion it was made between 1901 and 1917. Being the skewback version of the iconic No.12, it is in fact slightly rarer if anything. Well worth some restoration and it wouldn't surprise me to hear that there is at least a part of the etch somewhere under the grime.
I will look forward to seeing how it comes up. If you are struggling to find some apple to match the missing top horn let me know. I keep old handles in case I can use the timber for repairs.

Thanks for writing about the saws' history Paul, I enjoy reading about such things. It's good to know the saw is going to a good home, perhaps its life can be prolonged, hope so.

Velvet cushion!!
Doesn't it come with one of those?
We are probably just lucky it did not become a component of one of Springwater's sculptures.

A very big THANKS TO GRAIG today.
Firstly ,he was giving way a free saw top marks there.
Then ,he chucked in a swivel vice for good measure.

In retrospect it may have been a mistake moving North to Queensland. I think I should have gone South to Victoria.
