I've seen the WW for MM on you tube, that guy is an interesting character to say the least. I don't know that he does a lot of hand tool only projects (I've seen a number of his projects).

The 2nd site The English Woodworker looks very promising. I'll have to check that out tomorrow .... at work.

We are currently filming a Woodworking Series for TV which will air on Bris 31 Sept/Oct, called "Woodworking Masterclass"
There will also be a backup accompanying website but that is still in the construction phase.

Focus is on woodworking with hand tools, Furniture making, Box making, Marquetry and the like.

First series covers the construction in real time of a Small Side table with dovetail Draw and Cabriole legs, all done with hand tools except for the basic cutting out of the cab legs which uses a bandsaw, but fear not even that can be done with a coping saw if you persist.

First episode covers how to flatten a rough saw piece of timber with hand planes and winding sticks, how to join boards using a sprung joint and how to create the joint using a plane also each week demonstrates how to make and use a range of useful, easy to use and cost effective Jigs and workshop aids.

Currently we are asking for projects people would like to see in future series, some give me some hints if you want.

I see you're in Brisbane... I'll be demonstrating at Carba-tec this Saturday 24th,
Possibly shaping cab legs with spoke shaves and making a box or 2.

Trent from Harold and Saxon should be there also demonstrating the best and easiest way to sharpen and keep an edge on your hand tools.

Sounds like all my prayers answered I will certainly be watching for updates nearer to the time to see what days/times your show will be airing on Bris 31.

I think I will drop in on Saturday as I will be the Tingalpa area. What time do you anticipate these demonstrations will kick off ?

I have a feelin' in me bones there will be more of 'em in the future, post your itinerary and i'll see what I can do

Was at the TV Station today and it looks as if the programs will start to air in Oct.

I think that you will find that there are very few woodworkers who do it all with just handtools. Roy Underhill (The Woodwrights Shop) is one. The link will take you to videos, not a website, per se.

Paul Sellers is another that demos projects: Paul Sellers' Woodworking Blog

While I use handtools as much as possible, I do make use of some power in basic preparation. But only use solid hardwoods, some dimensioning, all handcut joinery, and finishing with handtools. There are a number of pictorials on my website: Furniture

Popular Woodworking Magazine's web site has copies of all their 'I can do that' projects - free if you register for their newsletter (which is actually quite good). The projects have been collected into a book, but the web site has the lot for free, and they use a limited number of hand held tools for the projects - the first 'issue' has a listing of all the tools & techniques - power saws, power router, power drill, Kreg Jig, otherwise all man powered IIRC. Also have a look at the various author/editor's blogs to have a look at what they have been/are working on. Woodworking Projects, Plans, Techniques, Tools, Supplies | Popular Woodworking Magazine

Roy Underhill's videos are wonderful, but they leave me with a severe case of envy, both of his antique tools and the apparent ease with which he can get timber in various forms.

Chris Schwarz blog at Lost Arts Press has lots on hand wood working (as does his blog at Popular Woodworking) and there is the odd link to projects like the 'galley' of a chapter on 6 board chests he is writing for one of his books. Lost Art Press

As someone that doesn't have all the big tools either I feel your frustration. Most of the time i just watch what others do and then try and find a way to do it with the equipment that i have on hand, occasionally i expand my tool set when i realise certain jobs would be much easier .... a table saw would be really nice...anyway i digress

what you need is to do is look up Paul Sellers on youtube. He does everything with hand tools and even then he keeps things minimalist...always uses the #4 plane for example. He was trained in old school carpentry and knows his stuff. Very refreshing to watch after some of the other youtube woodworkers.

Charles Neil might be worth looking at too. He's not dedicated to hand-tool work, but he explains so much that I'm sure you could benefit from watching.

His 5-board bench and carving a rosette are the classics that I had seen, ...
