What's in a name?
The "Froe away line" thread got me thinking about the number of tool names that lend themselves to puns and pathetic attempts at humour (my favourite sort). Some off the cuff, top of head and side remarks are
- How do you brace a brace!
- Do hand planes really fly?
- If a bit is a drill, where is the rest of it?
- Does an auger go well for the future?
- Do hammers get drunk?
- Are chucks meant to be thrown?
- Are vices subject to wicked behaviour.
- Are froes meant to be thrown.
- Do cramps work better if you massage them?
- Do chisels cheat and rip each other off?
- Do saws ever heal?
- Can you make an omelet with an egg-beater drill?
- If its a square how come it only has two sides?
- Etc. etc.

That's this crazy English language, little wonder migrunts find it hard to learn. Maybe that's why I failed English at school.

Love it!
Are bustard files all that bad?
Is cotton waste left over?
Can you swap a tradesman?
Do hatchets lay eggs?
Do block planes only fly around your street?
Are snips always short tempered?
Do dovetails make nests?
Doggie again (So much time to fill!)
