Thumbs up I wish I could do this with a bow saw!

    Hi All,

You have just got to have a look at this, http://popularwoodworking.com/article/klausz It's a video of a 3 minute dovetail using only a bow saw made by Frank Klausz. Pretty amazing stuff.

    Ciao,

    M.

It would take me about an hour to do that
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

    Hi Martin,

That bent blade he uses has been the subject of much discussion around the forums in the last few months, a few people have made their own.

Rob Cosman, has replied with a "more traditional" approach supporting the "tails first" camp.

More better image of the blade Frank uses can be found here.. (courtesy Wolfgang Jordan)

One of these day's I'll get around to making one, and see how it goes.

mmm damn now i have tool envy,

where can I find a nice fretsaw (or piercing saw) like the one Rob uses in the video?

I've tried the normal second hand sites, and the best I could find is this one

it looks ok, but I have my doubts about the quality - I can see that handle working loose etc.

Does anyone know of a better quality alternative?

I think that blades handy for removing the waste quickly like he did. but personally, just as I'd imagine him as well, would finish up with chisel cuts for better result than that.

Too rushed for me. Maybe he was only allowed three minutes.

You could always try the fretsaw that rob uses in his video - http://www.robcosman.com/tools_fret.php. This is not a recommendation as I don't have one of these, just something I saw in my web travels

    Ciao,
