What about a Rexon 12 in table saw? Steel top model RXW-12. Were these sold by carbatec? Are they any good?

If you look at the switch it saws 500 volts so reckon it's 3 phase.

I's say the 500V is the switch rating.

I’d be willing to bet at least one beer that it’s three phase, judging from the 3P 10A just above the 500V.

Switch is 3P but machine is SP - its not that uncommon especially on older machines - we had several donations that turned up like that at the mens shed.

I should have looked at the plug as well
Still those kind of questions have to be asked when looking at old machines.

These saws were sold under many different brands over decades with virtually no changes in the basic construction. Ok they're not in the league of a new Laguna, Harvey or Saw Stop, but if properly set up they can provide a level of quality very acceptable to a lot of hobbyists. Much better than a Triton for instance. The fence on the one you're looking at is a POS and an upgrade to an after market one would be recommended. I use mainly 10" blades on mine, but do have a couple of 12" blades which I mainly use for roughly breaking down larger stock. The motor is likely to be 2 or 3 hp, either is acceptable.

Make sure the saw has a 5/8" arbor - much better selection of blades and it should also take a dado stack. You'll probably have to do a bit of setting up to get it cutting straight and true to the mitre slots. The rise and fall and tilt mechanisms are adjustable via a concentric shaft mount to ensure they engage properly with the drive teeth. The lack of a riving knife is a bit of a PITA, but can be partially overcome by fitting a small hardwood guide in the back of any zero clearance throat plates you make.

The fence rails indicate to me that this saw was most probably built in the mid to late 90's (later models had square section rails), the motor might have a year marked on it, so it's likely to be at least 20 years old. Negotiate hard on the price.

This is another contractor style saw that I’m looking at as well. Hafco ST-10SD, asking $650, played as 2004 manufacture, asking too much imo.
    Looks ok too
