    Default 30 mm Arbor

Does anyone have any information on machining out saw blades holes. I have a table saw with 30mm arbor which reduces my choice on saw blades. I'm interested in the Freud blades but as far as I can find out they only have 5/8 holes. So if I purchased a Freud blade and had it bored out would it upset the integrity or safety on the table saw. I emailed Freud 10 days ago about this question but until now I've had no answer.

    Thanks you in adavance.

FYI you can get Freud Diablo 305mm x 30mm bore blades from Bunnings. I use an 80 tooth thin kerf one on my TS. They come with 3 reducer bushes so it can be also be used on smaller arbors.I have heard of blades being bored but holding the blade true to bore it would be the tricky part. Some sort of jig I would imagine would be needed. I have turned reducer bushes myself and they worked fine.steve

Is it a 10" or a 12" blade you are after? As Maggs said, a 30mm bore is pretty standard in a 12" (305mm)

Thanks for the replies. I had a look at the Bunnings site and all the blades were 12". Mine is a 10" blade.

Enlarging the bore is completely safe, any saw sharpening service should be able to do it for you.

The reducer rings work fine. And they are a cheap solution which means you don't have to rebore all the blades you have or any new ones you might buy.
