Default Just bought a Hammer C3-31

I have just brought a second hand Hammer C3-31 it's green, not the grey and red like the new ones.
Does anyone out there know what year Hammer changed colours?
I haven't got it home yet, its being serviced and cleaned. I hope to have that good fortune in the next two weeks.
I just felt I could not let this machine slip through my fingers it has a 2000mm sliding table, with a knife set for the spindle moulder, an a power feeder, wheel carriage.
If I brought the a new one I could of only afford the basic 800mm sliding table definitely couldn't of had a power feeder and would of have to wait before I could get some knives for the spindle moulder.
The only difference that I see between the new model, to the one I've got is the brake on the motors and the silent power cutter planer head. I think it is a 2008 model.
Is their anyone out there that knows these machines?

Someone else should be able to help you more here. Maybe check to see if it has a stamped metal plate somewhere on the unit. It might indicate when it was produced. I've seen 2005 models that are grey and red though.

    Thanks Hurcorh
I dare say it has a plate on it, its just not at my house yet. I pick it up this coming Saturday Ive been told it was a 2008 model but if you've seen grey and red models that are 2005. that makes it a lot older than i though.

Unless they came in multiple color options, then yes. So i'd be looking for any plate on the machine or someone else with more Hammer experience. The only experience I have with them is me just drooling over their quality

Brett, according to this post the colour changed in 2006. i have a green one too, and I believe that mine is a 2005 model.

Thanks for that Bob, I pick it up this Saturday. I will look at the plate and ask lots of question as I'm loading it on my trailer. I well lets everyone know when I finally get it home. how old it is. if it is 10 years old will then its ten years old. Its just had a major service by KR Engineering who are the importers and suppliers for Hammer in WA. I still feel like I got a great deal. I just can't wait to get working with it.

These are such solid machines and so well made that I think mine will outlast me. I don't think mine will ever get so old that I will think of it as past it or worn out. I'm sure you'll be happy with it. My only complaint is the fence, which I'm not happy with and eventually will replace. In the meantime I keep it aligned with switchable magnets, so it isn't a big deal.

Well I finale have my C3-31 in my shed. I had to get a friend with a forklift to take it off the trailer and put it in my shed.
I now have to put it all together, i.e. put the wheels on it. The plate on the side says it's a 2004 model so its older then I thought. Hay it looks brand new it's in such good condition, once I have it totally together I will post a picture.
I can't wait to plug it in and start using it.

From September to January end, I would have POUNDED that machine. The silent cutter heads are incredible.
