Carba-Tec TS-10L Write up
Hi,
I had a request to give people on the forum a brief write up on my new table saw. I thought this was a great idea, but i decided to take it one step further and i ended up writing a full blown how too on setting it up and then i finished with my opinion.
So, i hope someone gets use from this and if you have any feedback as to the accuracy or errors in the write up i am more than happy to fix the document
So i will see how i go and it may be posted over several posts.

Overview
It seems that there is a lot of work to post it with the formatting that I have on this site, so i made a PDF and have included the link here for people.

mee too....
Hi Michael,
it appears that the .pdf is served from a dynamically assigned (& regularly changing) Internet address. Due to Internet DNS caching outside your provider the Internet name lookup for users wanting to view the file could lag the change by anywhere from a half-hour (refresh) up to a full day (expiry), so the link will not always work.
I know version control becomes a problem, but can I suggest you might consider posting the .pdf as an attachment to a post on the thread?
best wishes,
david

Hey guys,
thanks to our wonderful power providers SPA, i regularly have to reboot my server.
This is just one of those cases, so it should be fine now and sorry for it being down so long. We actually had 2 outages in 2 days.
I have a dns update client on my server which will always update my dynamic address so at worst, it will be out by 30 minutes. Optus don't offer static addresses at a reasonable price and of course they block port 80, so i have to host it on 2001. One of these days i will have 30 minutes and i'll convert to TPG or iiNet.
Greaser, the file is ~900k and the .pdf limit is 393k so i had to host it from my server.
I'm glad you guys found it worth while. I really hope it helps someone else out as Fred (BigShed) got sick of me PM'ing him i think . Actually, thanks Fred for all your help with setting my saw up.

Hi Michael,
I would imagine ISP's block inbound port 80 connections because they only meter the download (for the benefit of other readers, our download is Michael's upload & is usually unmetered in domestic internet plans- not very cost effective for the provider, so they do what they can to minimise it!). I'd say (from a customer perspective) TPG are a good provider. However I note that many ISPs have moved their support desks offshore and when there is a problem it doesn't seem to matter that the user knows their stuff (because they do this sort of thing all day for a living), the (heavily accented and often hard to understand) support script still needs to be followed...
Back to topic: the pdf is very informative, thank you. I have a need for a TS on the horizon & user perspective information like this does help greatly with the decision process.
best wishes
