    Default Carbatec CT-PS1600-1PH

Would love to hear feedback from anyone who has used the Carbatec CT-PS1600-1PH sliding saw, especially if used with melamine sheets.
    Many thanks.

Scrolling through and saw your post from Feb. What type of info were you after? I have the CT-PS1800 with seperately driven scribe saw. Haven't used it much with melamine but have cut MDF and ply sheets of varying thicknesses. Terrific saw esp if you use the correct blades for the type of material and cut that you are doing.

Thanks blackheart. I was just after any general info such as build quality, ease of setup, accuracy of repetitive cuts etc.

Carbatec had a "runout special" on due to the new model arriving, a few hundred dollars off, so I decided in the end to take the plunge, for fear of missing out. I see now they have taken a further few hundred off - oh well.

I couldn't find any info on your CT-PS1800, do you know if its a big brother of the 1600?

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Think you were right to take the plunge. I've waited around for better deals and it has gone the other way with price increases.
Cabatec don't bring the 1800 in any more but Leda do. Same machine but rebadged. Very well built machine with a large sliding table and extremely heavy. Mine is around 8 years old now. I thought that I would have more use for the panel saw than I have so will probably sell it soon and go back to a smaller unit. Quite a large footprint and more suited to a larger shop.
Saw has performed flawlessly so I think that you will find your saw will do the job very well.
