Durden Pacemaker
Hi All,
I'm looking for something multifunctional but with relatively fine tolerances and adjustment options. I was looking at newer hybrid saws however I can't at this stage justify some of the price tags involved.
This Durden Pacemaker is available on Gumtree locally. $650. One owner who used it to build a boat and it hasn't seen much action since.
The bearings have just been replaced on the motor and it has a new cord etc.
Wondering what the collective's thoughts are on something like this for a small shop in the garage? How would I go for parts etc?
Thanks and happy Friday to all
Beez

My Father had one about 40+ years ago, that he built a house and a shack next door with it. It was then sold to someone else, who built his house, his brothers house and several boats as well.
Parts a like anything older than 10 years, but the only times a part is required is if it gets lost, or broken through misuse or butterfingers. Most of the components would be easy to replicate by someone with a few tools/machines, if they have the part or details of the part.
KrynTo grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

They are a great machine I have owned 2 over the years, about the only thing that can wear out on them are the bearings, unlike the later model with all the rubbish aluminium parts designed not to last, unless you use a hammer to make you adjustments ( I've seen it done) it will serve you well

Thanks very much for the responses guys. I had a closer look and on discovering I don't have a tilt option and when my wife read the 'The jointer still has 1/2 my little finger' post by another member, I was told to buy a new Dewalt 7491 instead!
I will build a table to be its home . I'll make sure to post photos.
Thanks again
