    Default All Together

Roy dropped the saw off at 2.15PM by 6Pm it was together I first made a cradle using handy angle and the wheels I had brought, I used a total of six wheels (four standard and two fitted with brakes) this gives me a load capacity of 360kgs

The saw came packed in a wooden box with the accessories in separate cardboard boxes

    Attachment 65796
After unpacking the saw I fitted it to the previously made cradle with the wheels attached
    Attachment 65797
It took me a few hours to fit up the site tables fence and Suva guard.

I am still not sure about the wheel cradle I don't intend to move the saw much I did it as a what if, I may re-jig the whole thing.

Whilst unpacking the saw I found that it was bolted to the pallet I may use these existing bolts to mount another type of wheel on the saw.

All up I had a lot of fun assembling the saw, tomorrow I will wire in a 15amp lead and clean and wax the table and check all adjustments.

Now I think I will have a beer and read the assembly instructions.

    Phil

The thing that has really impressed me is that the saw was dead simple to assemble and after checking the blade for 90 deg and 45deg adjustment using the Wixy angle gauge it was spot on as was the blade with reference to the mitre track. Leda (and Roy in particular) put up with my endless questions prior to purchase also.

So all up after reading a review for the Leda 10" saw I was anticipating a little bit of work but I was pleasantly surprised this is a seriously good saw.

I just have to remake the mobile base this time I will use rectangular section tube with 100mm 100Kg castors mounted outboard to give stability and bolt it to the locking points in the saw base that were used for shipping, will post a picture when I have it made.

They are a good saw for the price. The only issues I have with mine are a slight bow in the fence that needed shimming and the blade insert is nearly impossible to make zero clearance inserts for.

One day I might win Tatts and get a Martin, until then this'll do.

Entry level is around $35,000 I think, never really looked. They don't advertise their prices much and I'd be wasting my time chasing them.
