H'mmm, I'll admit there's two that generally need to be used, but what is the third? Compared to all the tapping this way and then back that way with a conventional fence there's no doubt in my mind that it's a huge time saver.

Yes woodPixel you did! And if it had have all turned pear shaped I would have held you to account. As I understand it you're only a fairly small framed fellow and my 1715mm would tower over you. Oh, and if you know anywhere they're giving away Ferrari's I'll have one too!

Back to the initial subject though, I think, presuming you can get the fence to set straight and true, it really is a matter of horses for courses.

My usual method is unlock red main fence lever, unscrew thumb screw, near fence closest to you, then untighten the other one at the far end of the fence. If i leave it loose i find when feeding sheet stock through the back end will flex. So i've just gotten into the habit of tightening and untighten every time.

I was specifically referring to roughing down sheet material, eg i need it aprrox 400mm wide, standard method would have been move fence to 410mm then cut, significantly faster then releasing and tightening the incra fence. The other annoying thing is reading the measurements much easier on the standard fence. Plus often times I've resorted to using a tape measure as most of the time I'd double check with a tape measure before the cut as I also find the magnetic steel ruler can move due to vibrations etc

Hrmm lots to consider! I guess I’ll just keep fine tuning the stock fence and see how I go over the Christmas break when I’m doing some builds. I’ll be building a workbench and grinder stand for the shed first but once I have my workspace set up I want to move onto making furniture for the house. That will be a bed, a console table for my tv, some bedside tables and a chest of drawers. After that who knows, I want to get into doing some turning as well so it all depends what interests me I suppose.
