The Griggio Looks like a serious machine and perhaps another brand I should consider.

The carriage itself is 3.8m long, imagine walking/working around this all day... has its pros and cons, the long carriage is like a barrier and the workshop is pretty much divided by it. The sliding carriage for the bandsaw was pure accidental. I didn’t plan to have a sliding carriage for the band saw but when you are pushed to the limit you will come up with ideas. the Griggio came up at local auction, the owner retiring and just want to get rid of it, basically it was a give a way price.

I think Griggio has gone bankrupt in 2017/2018? Not sure if anyone bought them out of their trouble yet. They never recovered from 2008 global financial crisis so I was told. Like others have commented. You can consider Minimax/SCM. I had a SCM S400P(MM16) bandsaw previously (it was actually made by Centauro – the big Centauro stamp/sticker at the back of the machine gave it away) I bought it new from Gabbets before they left NZ. Basically you set it up correctly and you forget about it. The technician I hire to service my machines mostly preferred SCM or Italian machines because they are easier to service. the machine made by Felder groups is not so easy to service.

Hi all, just for my two bobs worth, I have pulled the trigger on purchasing Hammer K3 Winner, I have no regrets or reservation in doing so, the service form Felder QLD has been outstanding to date, I researched a lot before narrowing down my machine of choice, my decision was solely based on what my needs are & nothing else.

    Cheers

Hi Tony, I hope the K3 delivers on expectations -I’d be interested to know how it goes!
For me it’s still on the shortlist but wanted to do due diligence before I pull the trigger

The only reason I purchased a K3 rather than Minimax was I did not know they were available in Oz at the time. My A3 only got the nod over a MM after a lot of head scratching and research, no segmented head in the MM at the time and the in handle dial height indicator in the Hammer were the factors in the end. Also if you mention you are looking at both it tends to affect the sales price as well.

I have the sliding carriage with out rigger and I find it great to use. Mine is the 1250-1300 slide and the same on the rip side.

Only issue I have is with the plastic tab and knurl used to hold the measurement scale on the slider. Broken mine twice so far due to over tightening it. User error but it would be better if it was made out of aluminum for the T slot.

Thanks for posting - its reassuring that we have some happy K3 owners out there.
I have checked current prices with SCM and a Minimax SC2 is around 7.5K with the outrigger included - with the Hammer K3 Winner this is an extra.
