How's Carbatec's style with 'gift vouchers'?
Anyone else have a wry grin on their face when they read the fine print in CT's latest sale brochure?
The 'free' $300 gift voucher with your next table saw or thicknesser is a great deal until you realise that the only way that you can redeem it is to spend a further $600 on your next purchase (which by the by must before the 30th June!)......how the heck is that 'free'.
Oh the voucher is free. It's just the redemption that costs money....Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

So many freebies out there - Buy one and get the second one free etc etc.
Most of the time I don't even bother looking at the fine print - I just jump straight in and bin 'em. I don't think that I have missed too much.

Yes, I am with you on this, Buzzard. No more Carbatec. If McJings have it, that's good enough for me.

Ahh... have a look at www.mcjing.com.au They're at Yagoona, a suburb of Sydney but do mail order brilliantly. Don't know how long they've been going as I only recently discovered them. They are Chinese and sell mainly (if not all) Chinese woodworking stuff. I have found the quality to be quite good and the prices are very good, esp compared to CarbaTec! Great service too! I have found that not all their stuff is on their website yet so you may have to email them if you can't find what you want.

Perhaps interesting service.
I was after a different size of an item which they had listed on their website .... I sent them an email to enquire if they had the larger size. Didn't receive a reply ..... they just listed it on the website.
I then placed an order ..... waited a few days with no confirmation so I sent them another email to make sure the order was received. In this email I asked to have a few additional items added if possible as I found a few other items I would like. Again no reply.
The goods arrived a few days later (not with the additional items). All in all still quite happy and would order again. Wouldn't hurt however if they managed to answer an email every now and then. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.
