jet xacta deluxe with forrest WWII cutting 60mm ironbark
hi today is the first time i have used my new jet xacta table saw (i have been waiting for a new blade from forrest). i have it fitted with the standard kerf (1/8inch) with the 32 tooth blade (the more aggresive one than the 40tooth blade).
i do have a 40tooth thin kerf that i used with my previous 1.5hp contractor saw and it was great.
the old saw i had bogged down with any hardwood above 50mm, it would have no chance with this ironbark
i recently picked up so ironbark which is 60mm thick so i was loooking forward to trying the jet out on it with the new blade
as you can see in the attached pics the saw ate it up like a hot knife into butter
the 3hp motor did not get bogged down once. and there are no burn marks on any of the wood. its very heavy dence iron bark so i am impessed
also everything was accurate out of the box.
i have it hooked up to a 2hp dust exctrator. the dust collectrion was good, but still a fair bit on the table and floor. i have ordered a shark guard to add dust extraction over the blade but it is a 4 to 5 month wait for this
i was using the incra fence previously but it wont fit on the jet. the table depth is 29.5inch and the standard incra only fits to 28inch. so i have ordered the XL fence and base plate. i prefer the incra as its so accurate. the jet fence is very solid (wont budge) but im just used to the incra
