Makita - what happened.
Was in Bunnings and saw a Makita mlt100 table saw.
Quick look,
sliding table - Nice
Wide ripping - nice
Went home and did a web review check.
Oh Makita - What were you thinking.
Dewalt 745 xe in now on the list but a bit more expensive than I have.

I love how everyone automatically hangs s*** on Chinese products when they're just working to the budget that's been set.
Making stuff in China isn't the problem, they're perfectly capable of turning out very well made and well finished products if people are willing to pay for it; Apple is a perfect example of this. Moving to China isn't the problem, moving to CHEAP is the problem.

The sample I looked at, the guide behind the blade holding the guard did not line up with the blade. This was with the naked eye, so I would not even attempt to use.

David - like you I looked at a Makita - instead purchased a Bosch blue contractors saw - a bit more $$$ than the MLT but better made and not excessively priced - was cheaper than comparable dewalt saw.
