    Default Minimax C26 Combination problem

Hi any Minimax C26/C30 or other combination users.

The blade height adjustment system on my C26 wont hold the blade up, the two adjustment knobs seem to be rotating together. Looking at the parts diagram i can't understand either how they work or how i might dismantle and fix them.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

    Thanks Owen

If it's anything like the Minimax SC2 saw at work, the locking knob may be binding against the adjusting knob. Grab the adjusting knob firmly and crank the locking knob clockwise to break the bind. Then you should be able to screw the locking knob in to lock the the blade in position.

Jack is correct with his analysis. I am not near my C26 today but I would have thought that it was a right hand thread and thus turn anti-clockwise to break the bind. I will check tomorrow if it isn't resolved by then.

Well, so much for my memory.
The locking knob is at the rear and the height adjuster at the front. The locking knob is right hand thread as mentioned so if you grip the front knob and turn the locking knob anti-clockwise to loosen. If you are saying that the blade won't hold its position, which implies that the locking knob is not locked then hold the blade adjuster firmly and turn the locking knob clockwise.

Hi Huon Pine Fan and Jack620, thanks for the advice, it seems to be working now but i'm still interested in how the two knobs work, is it just friction? Owen

Quite possibly. There is minimal adjustment between locked and not, certainly on mine.
