Default What price for a used table saw?

I intend to sell my table saw. It was purchased from GPW a few years ago. It was also sold by any number of other companies under a variety of names.

    It looks like this.

Now when I have looked at the Market Place on this forum I have sometimes (often actually) seen items for sale that did not attract any offers. So what would be a reasonable and fair price to put on this saw? It is in really good condition. But there is no point in putting it up for sale at a price nobody will pay and I have never bought or sold a used table saw before.

    $849 - $949

brand new they are about $1500, less any discount that the purchaser may be able to swing at the time of purchase. probably reasonable to expect a 10% discount, given that sales happen with 10% off everything. so $1350 brand new. the dewalt jobsite tablesaws that bunnings sell are quite popular, and they go for $849 at the moment. But your cabinet saw is better than that. So at my suggested pricepoints you can attract those looking to 'settle' for the dewalt, or allow those about to spend $1300 big ones the opportunity to save ~$400.

In good nick and no bits missing, I would think after the warranty has expired 1/2 to 2/3 of what you paid new. That said as prices of new goes up it also pulls the second hand market along a bit. You can put it on with a starting price and see how the market goes. There is also ebay and gumtree. I think most members in the market for a table saw on here have done the homework and can spot a good buy when they see one so this forum' market is a pretty good place to start.

I will probably put it on the market this week. But I actually like the thing. It is a good saw, but in recent years I have come to make my furniture and small boxes almost entirely using hand tools. The only real use a table saw has to me is to break down the large slabs of timber that I buy. Much as I like my hand saws, I am way to lazy to try to convert big rough saw slabs into usable timber using hand tools. For that I use my saws and planners. And so I am looking for a larger and more powerful saw. The one I have will do it-has done it for a few years now- but I want a heavier machine. I think?!

You might find a BS is a much better way to break down timber than a TS.

In terms of price I agree with Orraloon.

I have given very serious consideration to getting a BS instead. I may yet do so. There are pros and cons whichever way I go.

Thanks for that, it is greatly appreciated. I hope all goes well for you in your transition with your new saw later this year.
