Sheer Insanity on eBay...
Guys,
Relative Newbies, just in case any of you are bidding on this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Table-Saw-Ben...QQcmdZViewItem
please be advised that these things were only $199 when they were being sold brand new at Aldi's last year...
They'll do them again. Just be patient...
The number of times I've also seen the $99 GMC unit going for well more than that 2nd hand on eGay makes me nauseous...
My Condolences if you're the current high bidder,
Batpig.

Anyone know how good/bad these things are. ie. would one be an upgrade on my Triton MK3 (with crosscut sled), or don't bother?
Chris

Well, looks like someone (the owner?) bought it for $335!

mmmmm In Melbourne, sales states no postage, local pickup only, yet someone from WA bought it.

It will be interesting if the buyer pulls out of the sale now and the 2nd highest bidder is offered a 2nd chance.
The scam I've seen is when a bidder retracts their ridiculously high bid in order to sniff out the current maximum bid and then another bid comes in later just under that maximum. Often a case of more than one ID working together to extract top $. This is one of the reasons I'll no longer bid on anything until the last 30 seconds.

Its got to really make you wonder about some people and their thoughts and actions is all I can say.
