Sliding table attachments for cabinet saw
Hello All;
Work life balance has returned so I'm getting back into woodworking and I am going to buy a Harvey table saw.
The work station version with the router plate and the sliding table is attracting me and I am wondering what peoples opinions are on this type of sliding table attachment?
I think it might be a good substitute for a SCMS and having one piece of machinery would be great with the shape of the space I have for a workshop
Harvey HW10WS Work Station Tablesaw - Major Woodworking Equipment
Any advice or opinions would be welcomed?
Thanks
Joel

I have a very basic sliding wing for my saw that I used for a while then took it off when I found I could do better with a sled. It is not as good looking as that one however. I dont have a SCMS as space is limited and most crosscuts are done on the tablesaw. I find long heavy timber hard to crosscut on the tablesaw. Even when I used the sliding wing so I built a crosscut jig for the hand held circular saw to use on those odd ocasions.
Regards
John
PS a router wing is worth having where space is in short supply.

That type of sliding table is a compromise as are most domestic variations, it does not replace SCMS although if you don't have the space for both it would be a good compromise
