New Table saw.
G'day all.
Well, I had a good time at the Hobart WWWS this year. Spent heaps.
Decided to get me a table saw. Went to the Carbatec Stand perved on the TSC10 HB and asked a few questions. Fittted standard with a router wing (all the fittings for it were a couple hundred extra). Saw blade not included. Decided to get one but none left here, would have to ship from (Brisbane I guess as thats where they were from) so freight would kill any discounts. Thanked the guys and went to look at the Jet Supersaw (coz Wongo told me to). Sorry mate none here. Great saw though." I'll take your word for it mate", I says.
I wandered over to the local Ledacraft stockist. Had one of these so I bought it. Delivered free to my shed tomorrow. Gave me a Freud 250mm 80T blade as well as the bog standard one included. Come to Hobart from Launceston once a month to service their customers. And with a sliding table, a good deal I thought at 1250 bucks.
Gotta sell the Triton gear now. The shed is chockers.
CheersIf you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Nice one Sheddie, welcome to the Leda club. I have a 12HK.
Interested in what you think of the sliding table once you've had some experience on it. Was it an optional add-on?I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Sheddie
Give us an update when you've had some experience.
When my new shop is finished I need a TS. Great value, but I wonder about the 2HP motor. Will it have enough grunt? Will you need to upgrade the fence? Can you run a dado set? These sort of issues.Bodgy

G'day Bodgy. Sitting here waiting on delivery. I have no experience at all with this type of machine. The soon to be sold Triton WC2000 is it. So when I've had a play wiv it I'll give a bit of a first-timers review. Have no idea how 2hp will go but I wont be doing really heavy cutting with it. It might get 1 or 2 hours a week use if that and will do what I want hopefully. If not i'll whack a bigger engine in it. Fences? I'll have to see. There's a fancy one that comes standard on the 12 inch model. beermeister or sumfink..... anyway I'll let you know. PS: should see my first resharpened Berg chisels. WOW. I just love that Tormek 2006 I bought at the show on Friday. Up until 1.00AM this morning sharpening....
CheersIf you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

I seem to remember you have a few chisels, so you should be occupied for a while. Get to the plane irons next.

Tomorrow eh? The roar of fine machinery wafting through the trees. Or is it today? Looks like you got a good deal. Enjoy.

Looks exactly the same as Hare and Forbes ST-250.
This isn't a bad thing, I suggest getting yourself a Kreg Precision Mitre Gauge, this would make a really good table really great.

Damn Bloody thing didn't arrive. They thought they had all day to clear their stuff from the WWWS venue but had to be out by 3PM. Tomorrow morning is the big day.

Sheddie ,
This is the one I looked at in Adelaide a couple of weeks ago ,Lets know how it goes I'm thinking of getting this one myself ,might add the Beisemeyer fence option and the Jet mobile base .
Im still working on my shed extension so It'll be a little while longer before I get it ,so give yours a flogging and let us know how it goes.
I'm gonna have to pay freight to near Darwin so my price will be higher."Outside of a dog a book is man's best friend ,inside a dog it's too dark to read"
