    Cool New Table Saw

Picked up my new TS-10L 1PH yesterday arvo and spent the evening into the late hours assembling it

First impressions are that it is a very well made machine and I am a very happy chappy

Straight out of the box everything it could have been used as was but I went over it and spent a couple of hours fine tuning everything. The worst one out would have been the riving knife, leading edge was true with the back edge kicked out about 1.5mm.

Mitre slots is out by approximately 0.25mm of which I'll adjust when I have a better gauge set-up to measure it. Might pick this up at the show

Oh and it was dead easy for me to unload

Yeah I reckon all vehicles should come with an optional Hiab even if it is a small one!

So you've made the progression from a turner to a real woodworker.

Nice healthy looking baby you've got there, looks like the delivery went well.

Now you've just gotta fire it up.

Be careful if you make a zero clearance timber fence for the mitre gauge that the fence doesn't push the blade guard sideways rather than upwards.

My saw is very similar and I managed to push the guard sideways with the zero clearance fence and the blade ground into the side of the blade guard.

It's even easier to damage the guard when cutting on an angle. Initially the fence clears the guard. The guard is pushed upwards by the timber you are cutting but when the guard then drops back down it is pushed sideways by the fence.

Seems the only answer may be to have a shorter mitre gauge fence and dispense with the advantage of the zero clearance. A bit unfortunate!

So I've discovered only nicked it but I'm not too concerned about it

I think you are partly responsible for a few folks buying these Big Shed... I picked my TS10L from Carbatec Sydney today. Will post some pics when its setup on the weekend

DJ - looking good mate That truck sure is the way to unload - there was a lot more muscle involved in mine today.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

You've got to make them work for it down there, what's on the computer doesn't always match what is out the back or on the showroom floor
