    Default Table Saw Blades

Has anyone used IVA Saw Blades. I don't know where they are made.

    Just wondering their quality?

What kind of saw do you have and what are you wanting to do?

    Laguna Fusion Saw.

Want to handle hardwood like say Vic ash. Will mostly be standard 3/4 inch think boards.

Having recently taken delivery of a Saw Stop, I'm mulling over blades as well. From what I can see, yours is a 10" unit too, though I haven't looked at the arbour (I'm assuming it's 5/8th, like the Saw Stop).

I'm firmly of the belief that a large part of a good cut comes down to a quality blade - there is a lot of pretty ordinary (or worse) out there.

For Melamine and veneers, I'm thinking the Freud LU80R010: https://www.amazon.com/Freud-Ultimat...70_&dpSrc=srch
For a nice smooth (glue line) rip, I'm looking at the Freud LM74R010: https://www.amazon.com/Freud-Industr...70_&dpSrc=srch
For general purpose, the Freud LU72R010: https://www.amazon.com/Lit-Freud-LU7...70_&dpSrc=srch
And finally crosscut, Im looking at the Freud LU73R010: https://www.amazon.com/Lit-Freud-LU7...70_&dpSrc=srch

These blades I think will make a nice set, and cover pretty much most everything you would need on a table saw. Your needs might be a bit different, and you might leave one or two of these off your list - I would defer to those here with considerably more knowledge that I have though! These are shipped by Amazon themselves (so no resellers involved, something I'm not keen on), the shipping seems very reasonable, and the blades themselves also seem reasonable given the quality (at least to my mind).

Since it's a decent machine, you'll really notice how bad cheap/unknown blades can be (they can also be great, it's very much a lottery)

Thanks for input and links MM. Yes I have looked at 1 of those 4 blades and a blade very close to another (being the LU73R010 and the LM72R010). Even found the rip blade on ebay from Aust supplier but seemed expensive to me ($125). I am happy to spend reasonable money on 2 blades (I know "reasonable means different things to different people) If I can get a good rip blade and a crosscut for around $250 I would be happy.

The Laguna Fusion is a 2HP saw but you may have the 3HP Sawstop. Mine does indeed have a 5/8" arbour.

Yes I was thinking down the same track hence the question here and if anyone used them were they good.

I would prefer to buy locally if I can but there are not too many choices with 5'8" arbour. (I do realise you use the spacers if needed)

I went through a fairly convoluted process in thinking through the blades I came up with - and likely enough, I probably don't need all four myself, but I was looking at what blades I could get to make a "set" (insofar as covering most types of cuts in most materials). You're right, mine is a 3hp unit, though I don't see any reason why your Laguna couldn't use any of the blades I listed (perhaps someone might chime in here if I'm wrong?)

In all the research I did, the two brands that came up consistently were Freud, and CMT.

The distributor of Freud here in Australia doesn't have anywhere near the range of blades that most would want last time I looked.

The distributor for CMT here in Australia seems to only have blades with a 30mm arbor. Yes, they have an "adapter". I've seen this "adapter", and considering how dangerous a spinning saw blade can be, I'm not willing to trust it. Go ahead, call me paranoid if you like

Faced with this, I then looked overseas, and found Amazon have all the Freud blades one could want, and cheap shipping. I know that if you're keen on the rip and crosscut blade, to get them here might be a bit more than your budget - I will leave it to others with more experience to offer their opinion on whether trying to stretch your budget is workwhile - I've been waiting patiently for funds before ordering myself (having moved house 12 months ago, it's amazing how much money we suddenly don't have!).

I will add one fact I missed noting above - all those blades are standard kerf, so changing them over in your table saw won't require anything in the way of readjustment or alignment or differences in calculations (this too was another requirement I set myself initially - making sure all blades in any set had exactly the same kerf).
