New Tablesaw
After two and a half years of procrastination and trying to decide which table saw to buy I have finally bit the bullet .
I have committed to purchase a CS1010 Tablesaw from the Townsville Jet shop .
It's not a Jet but I think it will be just as good .It is their own build and has some good features including a storage cabinet under it for accessories.
It has a large cast iron top , left tiltiing blade ,Beisemeyer fence and is capable of taking a 10" or 12" blade ,2hp single phase motor
Will also take a Dado stack up to 25mm.
Have ordered the mobile base and a couple of Feud blades to go with it.
For the price I reckon it's good value .
Just have to get it from there to here and set it up.

Looks like last nights posts disappeared in the crash .
But I remember the discussion regarding the supplied mitre gauge .
I do have my sights set on the Incra 1000es to get a more accurate cut.
Along with the machine I also ordered the mobile base and two Freud saw blades a 60t cross cut and a 30T rip blade .
Got my invoice today with a nice surprise , all the above came to $100.00 more (less gst ) than the price of the saw on the website , so Allan has given me a fairly substantial discount , I never asked for a discount he has just gone ahead and done it which I appreciate because it covers the freight cost

I've got a very similar saw, you'll like the blade guard and dust extraction setup, as well as the left tilt. Sounds like an excellent deal at that price
I bought the Incra 1000SE mitre gauge as well, best addition you can make to any tablesaw for sure. Not cheap but worth the money.

Its a great saw for the price. The quality is excellent and the fence is a cracker. The reason its price is low, is because its a direct drive. You will love it Kev

Hi Woodlee
We have used this saw as a demo unit for awhile now borrowing them for shows etc. I was so impressed that I bought one for my own workshop, but, it needs;
- A decent blade
- A decent mitre gauge
It also is very easy to upgrade using; Wixey Saw Fence Readout & the Incra Mitre Express and even the Incra Tablesaw Fence etc., which coincidently will be fitted to the showroom saw in Townsville.
This saw is also available from Major Woodworking (Syd), and Woodworking Warehouse in Melbourne.
Congrats on a smart buy.

I'm just glad I finally got around to making a decision,I've been bashing my head for along time over this.Reading all the posts and cruising web page after web page.
Allan from Townsville Jet Tool Shop , has obviously given me good advice regarding this saw from what Grahame and Fred have said.
I nearly bought a Woodfast TS250RC , but from advice from private e-mails, the two people I know with them didn't seem all that with them.
I looked to a similar machine ,made by another well known company ,but again advice was not convincing .
In no way am I bagging Woodfast or any other products ,I know Woodfast supply some very nice machinery but "reasonably happy" didn't fill me with confidence .
Paid my invoice tonight , Allan informed me by e-mail that it will leave Townsville early next week .
I'll have a few restless nights till it arrives , but a couple of days off to make up for them when it does.
I think I got the blades right this time ,Freud not Feud .
I'll keep you posted.

Hello,
I'm looking at making the same decision as you. Are you still happy?
Because I need to buy sight-unseen probably, I'm nervous about the accuracy of the slots, table flatness, rigidity and general quality. I'm hoping buying Jet over Carbatec and H&F will solve this.

Happier and happier.
Hi
I've been using mine quite a bit lately, I'm still in awe of the quality vs. price equation. I've fitted a Wixey readout to the fence and use the Incra Mitre Express & 1000se combination. A bit of extra cost, but when you start economically you can afford to add a few frills.
So if you're interested in one.... go for it.
BTW we don't sell saws just offer advice based on our own experience,

I also have one of these saws, purchased from Gary Pye, and I am very happy. Excellent quality and price. Highly recommended. I can recommend purchasing from Gary as well. Great service.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks for the endorsement. The local Jet distributor informs me that they are willing and intending to get both machines into their showroom to demo for me, so I get a chance to see first. It turns out the CS1012 is a Woodman model that many of the Jet distributors import alongside their Jet gear.
Gary, I've seen those Incra mitres and sled at the shops before. They're half priced on Ebay but freight and lack of support might kill that idea. They're very expensive (500 for set perhaps) was it really worth it? I was going to make a sled I guess.
How do you find dust extraction on the saws? My research to date suggests that's one of their shortcomings.
I was looking at the ones with 30" rails (the short ones) and fitting a custom router table in between Have you tried this?
I don't think I can order from Gary, freight would surely make it expensive.
Cheers, GB

I went to the Adelaide Wood show and looked at the Carbatec, Woodfast, Jet etc and was not impressed with them at all.
All the ones I looked at were too rough And the ones with sliding tables were too flimsy
I have recently bought a CS1012 table saw from Gpw for $ 1375.00,.
Freight from Currumbin to Tennant Creek was $379.30 plus GST.
The dust extraction on this saw is EXCELLANT

I'm over the moon with mine .
Made a couple of zero clearance inserts , added an Incra 1000SE mitre gauge ,and have a Wixey digital read out for the fence on it's way.
I use a Wixey angle gauge if I need a really accurate reading on the blade tilt.
Also made a couple of tee nuts to fit the slots on the face of the fence so I can bolt stop blocks and other bits on to it.
Damn fine saw . I'm absolutely sold on it.

I am interested in perhaps purchasing one these saws. Is a direct drive and not a belt drive. If so, is this an issues. Also, can anyone account for the $300.00 odd difference for purchasing one in Melbourne? And lastly how much assembly is required.
Cheers
