Thread: Upgrading TS in small area, low amp rental

Maybe if you could get a 15A dedicated GPO installed in the carport, then you will have lots of options.
I run my 3HP Hammer TS off the same deal. It will actually run off a 10A circuit but I think it has a sort of 'soft starter' built into it.

Probably one of the most important being to run a small DC at the same time on the 10A circuit.

Laguna Fusion would do the trick. I’ve bought mine as it’s compact, easy to move around and runs on 10 amps. Upgrading my electrics would be a pain given the arrangement of our garage/home.

The saw is nice, quiet, does a good job. If you’re upgrading from a Triton you won’t be able to get the smile off your face, chalk and cheese.

If you’re a bit obsessive I found that the cast iron tables are not 100% flat on mine (using a veritas straight edge)but no different to the larger tsc10hb I had and it doesn’t affect saw function. Good value for money. I looked at the sawstop which I think is great but did not want the contractor style saw.

I have a Sawstop Jobsite that replaced my Triton. Couldn't be happier, plus it folds up and easy to put away freeing up room in my single garage.

Hi guys, still going through hundreds of pages of TS material working out my short list. Quickly I have improved storage and thus floor space in the workshop, got knocked back for 15A circuit and found a second outlet on a different circuit to use for dust extraction.

I have 2 interstate options shortlisted:

Both of which appear to be similar, the issue I would have would be interstate warranty and repair and both would need a sliding table (Nothing too extreme). Luckily they both seem to employ and identical make of sliding table

I will have to drop into Leda after work and have a look at what they have and ask about dadoes etc.

I am currently saving up any workshop cashflow, apprentice trade loan payments (soon) and upcoming tax return to get the bankroll.
i want to try and knock it down to one or at most two options and save to that figure, barring any secondhand deals or discount offers that pop up before then.

Any thoughts opinions on the above listed items?

For info:
I am only doing some very light hardwood work atm but hope to increase that with the saw,
I don't do a lot of panel work but do have to rip down some decent sized sheets (worst case scenario I can knock them down on the european panel saw at work and trim as needed at home)
