Thread: Anyone using the Carbatec MJ2325B Table saw?

I have not seen one but one thing has me intriged - it has a 1" arbor. Now Blades should not be a problem as you can get inserts for them (i.e. CMT blades are 30mm and Carbatec will supply a matching insert). BUT if you wanted a DADO set in the future, that might be a problem as all the ones I have seen/heard about are 5/8".

I am also interested in the MJ2325B but it seems it is a new model and nobody has experience with it. The guys at carbatec told me that they are not due in for 3 weeks (that was 2 weeks ago) and that they have 6 in back order.
Let us know how you go, on paper and for the price it does look good, but I have yet to see one in real.

CMT have a 30 mm dado set. But it is pretty expensive ($349).

After more research, I am now looking at a Jet saw ( see http://www.wmhtoolgroup.com/JETWood/...TS10CW2JF.html GPW has them for $1039) as all I have spoken to think it is better quality. My problem is I am limited by space in the "workshop" - read garage otherwise something larger would be in the picture. I am trying to get the most accurate quality saw I can that will fit in the space allocated.

I gave a call to Carbatec Syd today again and they said they still dont have the 2325B and the guy had no idea when they will come in, he just threw a one month.

I would pick the TSC-10HB but I would prefer a 2HP, currently when I start my 3HP thicknesser the lights of the whole house slightly dim and the line comming into the house was already upgraded two years ago to 80 or 90 amps I dont exactly remember. I spoke to a sparky friend and he mentioned that it may very well dim the light in the neighbors houses too and there is nothing I can do about it...

The WTS10CW2JF you mentioned is a contractors saw and I would prefer a cabinet type of saw.

That leaves me a fairly small choice with the Jet equivalent (2 HP) of the TSC-10HB which is a bit too expensive or perhaps a Supersaw w/o the sliding table.

Same as for you, my main criteria are the quality and prescision (of course price too). As I will not be doing production runs, the power is not that important for me.

Regarding the space limitation you have I do not think it is very important, what determine how much room you need is the size of the timber you work on, not the table size, no matter what you will need room around the table saw and it is probably the machine that requires the most room.

I had one of these MJ2325B 10" saw's i got it in adelaide and had it for 2 months, i was not that happy with mine as it had lots of little issues that i wasnt that happy about :mad: . having said that one of my good friends has one of these ( he brought it after he saw mine) and is happy with it , we think that maybe i just had a lemon :eek: . i ended up getting a tsc12hb that i am very happy with .

one of the things that are of note is that you will not get a dado blade on as the spinndle shaft is 2 short :mad: .

Ah, yes, i guessed that much, but from which manufacturer/supplier? The source of all good things (aka google) failed me on that...
