Zero clearance insert for Carbatec table saw that works well.
Well my first attempt sucked, coz it was made of pine, silly me.
the problem with the Carbatec 10 TS is that a 3mm flat space is required about 20mm all round the outer part of the insert. Pine isn't strong enough, nor mdf, nor pretty much anything timber.
then I was looking at some of that plastic flooring at Bunnings, and scrounged a chipped one for $5. Made these 3 inserts and the first one works a treat I must say
Just scrape off the rubber cushioning on the bottom of the board, sand bottom smooth. cut to size (cuts like butter with a high tooth count blade) mill the underneath back from the 4mm thickness to 3mm, drill holes and relief for the screw heads, and she's ready to go.
Pretty happy, no more expanding and contracting like the wood insert, smooth surface, neat slot.
And if you can find those boards at the tip, or lying round, FREE!DSC01125.jpgDSC01124.jpgDSC01123.jpg

Just don't try to drill out the relief for the screw head with a 10mm viper drill bit like me and wreck the hole completely Woke up after that and used the right tool for the job, only had to walk 3 metres to get the countersink bit and chuck it up
