Default Where to buy the best Dewalt DW735 After Market Blades (not helix) in Australia?

    Hi all,

Just purchased a (second hand) new never used DW735 at a ridiculous price.

There are two sets of original Dewalt 3 blades (never fitted) that comes with.

I've read the blades don't last very long and that I should NOT purchase the Dewalt blades.

Has anyone who owns the DW735 found After Market Blades for the Dewalt DW735 (In Australia) that they would recommend over the original Dewalt blades?

If so, could you please post where you got them?

Sorry, can't afford the helix replacements as I've promised my wife our first born and my next two birthday and christmas presents for assisting with this purchase.

    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Barry G. Sumpter

I use the original Dewalt blades and they seem to be lasting well. They are reversible . There are others available but the only ones I’ve seen need to be purchased from the USA.
I also would like a helix head but it’s more than the price I paid for the thicknesser

yep, I used to get them on amazon and buy several packs but I found they lasted quite well. I now have the helix head on mine as a self fit and just love it but your right it makes it expensive.

I have one about 5yts or so ago then last year finally fitted with a Byrd Shelix cutterhead I’d bought as a wood show special; but it took me a few years before I did the changeover as the original Dewalt blades lasted so well.
After I did the changeover I passed the old blades plus a new set onto a fellow forum member.
Just a side issue to consider; the Byrd Shelix cutterhead is way quieter, you can hold a normal conversation next to the thicknesser when it’s running plus you get a hand smooth finish so less sanding.

    Thanks to all who replied.

    Another question.

    Did anyone get the DW735-XE?
If you did, did it include the indeed and outfeed tables?
    Thanks,

    Thanks crowie.

can you please confirm yours is the DW735-XE model or not?

I've had a pretty good look around and can't see any current ads for the DW735-XE that includes the tables in AUS.
But they DO in the US with the DW735X (not XE).

    No rush. No pressure.

    No prob if not.
    Thanks,

I’m the lucky forum member that Crowie most generously donated the blades to - you beauty Crowie
I also picked up another unused set from the Market place at a reasonable price. These should keep me going for many a year
As far as I’m aware, the infeed and outfeed tables are an optional extra, even on the -XE.
A worthwhile investment, if you can squeeze a few more sheckles out of SWMBO, is a Wixey Digital readout - absolutely brilliant!

    Thanks again crowie.

    Good score kappa.

I'll be building a thru sled for mine.
I was hoping my AUS version comes with one so I could sell them.
    LOL.

Yeah, now that I've had a full 8 hours sleep I think it goes like this.

DW735 - Just the planer - no extras
DW735X - US with extra blades and feed tables.
DW735-XE - AUS - Extra blades and DeWALT square hand sander with proof of purchase thru DeWALT.

So pretty sure mine from AUS did NOT come with the feed tables.
Still feel like I stole it at the price it paid.
Super happy with what I got.

    OK. Just confirmed with DeWALT.
"DeWALT Australia have NEVER offered the feed tables with any model number.
The XE denotes the country only."
    Thanks,
