Default Carbatec BX-330P/CT-330X and narrow stock

Just would like to know from the owners of the Carbatec bench top spiral head thicknesser, how do they go with narrow stock? A lot of time I run 15mm wide stripe thru my Jet thicknesser and with the full width blades there is no problem (old style 2 blade system). As the Carbatec spiral head is not like the Spiral Head upgrades which have four full rows of cutters the Carbatec only has 26 staggered cutters. Does this cause any problems with very narrow stock?

    Thanks.

I’ve don’t quite a bit of 35mm through mine and had no issues... spotted gum, messmate, walnut, vic ash, white ash.

I just keep varying the position across the platter to ensure even wear on the blades.

Thanks for that. I was just not sure if narrow stock would feed thru and cut just the same as it does with a full width blade.

I have done thin stock in the carbatec thicknesser with no issues I place a length of craft wood on the bed of the thicknesser so I can machine thin stock, just beware of kickback DONT stand behind the material.
