    Default Feed roller chain skipping

Hi guys, so I only just purchased a Woodman pt310 12" combination jointer in used condition, in thicknesser mode the feed roller chain is skipping, does anyone have this same machine or the jet which I think is pretty much the same, and know a way to tighten the chain? I can't really see an adjustment, or would i just take some chain links out.

    Thanks. Dave.

I don't have that machine although normally chain drives have an idler of some type to adjust, also could be that the sprockets or chain need replacing

I have a new PT-260 unit that is essentially the same. I just checked and agree there is no sign of easy adjustment. I did notice the chain is quite loose but improves when the roller drive lever is engaged. On checking the manual it only says under "chain jumping" the remedy is to adjust chain tension. I therefore wonder if the chain tension adjustment is linked to the belts/motor adjustment?

I have just checked again and found by removing the top cover from the main drive section (located on the left hand top side )
it gives you access to the belt and chain drive where you will find a small adjustable idler that can be altered to change the chain tension.
