Default Hammer A3 41 teething issue

I fired up my new A3 41 last night after finally getting 3 phase power through to the workshop.

One small issue, while the machine runs smoothly and surprisingly quiet - at start up it is making an abnormal binding sound which has me a bit concerned.

It lasts only for a second and then completely disappears. There is no obstruction to the cutter head when I turn it with the machine switched off.

This machine has a powerful 5hp motor with a lot of torque and I suspect it could be maybe a belt tension issue or something in the drive train?

    Advice appreciated.

My A3-31 is single phase so I can't comment on the start up noise but if you are worried call Felder and let them decide if it is normal or not.

Its probably the brake releasing? my AD951 has similar binding noise when powering off/on. last maybe 0.5 seconds.

I discovered the drive belt was a bit slack..... surprising for a new machine but pleased the problem is solved after a quick adjustment.

Very pleased with the quietness of this beast - a very sweet machine indeed.
No regrets letting the screaming DeWalt go and the old Jet Jointer!
