Default Jointer Buzzer issue help please

    Hi all
I am giving my old but new buzzer a clean up and have a couple of questions

1 Is there a lube or grease out there i can use to lubricate the tables in their rails that wont attract dust and eventually jam up the working parts? Or am i better not to lube at all.

2 I am trying to remove the knives to get them honed before use. But im having no luck trying to shift the nut? holding them in. Is it likely to be a nut? They have been bathed several times in WD40. the material the nut is made from seems very soft and im rounding them over when I apply any force am i missing something here.

gib screws that hold your blade in need to be screwed in to loosen the blade you also need a close fitting spanner. sometimes you may need to cut the head off particularly stubborn gib screw and replaced. got the lubricant we use on the tip of my tongue just can't think of it right now sorry

    G'day Kiwi,

To remove the blades as Canetoad said you have to screw the gib screws in - that is with the spanner on the screw head turn the spanner towards the vee belt pulley.
