Default jointer outfeed table adjustment problem

this is an 8 year old carbatec 6" long bed
i need to adjust the outfeed table down a smidge which hasnt been touched since new-
after unlocking the lock screw all attempts to move the adjuster wheel in either direction fail
there is nothing i can grab a spanner on to to get some mechanical advantage
the adjuster is a hard plastic thingy about 50-60mm across and is driving a screw in a bracket that pushes the table itself either up or allow it to come down

seeing as i cant move it in either direction i assume the thread is frozen in the bracket
not sure about loosening off the gib lock screws or whether that will even help - i really cant afford the table to go out of true with the infeed table
any tips on how to get things moving?

i am not familiar with the exact model you have. is it a parallogram or wedgebed design? if it is wedgebed, there will probably be some screws that can lock down the dovetail keyway tight. back em off a bit and try again. They have probably been done up tight deliberatly to prevent the outfeed table from moving, its how i would do it. Once the tables are set and coplanar, i dont like to mess with them, so i set the knives to the table.

this the one but the earlier model without the handy lock screws on the front and the easy to get at adjuster

i can see the set screws that are locking the wedges or gibs as they are called in the manual at the back of the outfeed table - last thing i want to do is cause problems with the table geometry.

guess i need to reset the blades then - i was going to have them sharpened anyway - i remember the horrors of setting the blades on an old electric hand planer and avoided removing the blades till now because of that ancient machine.
