Jointer / thicknesser
Hi all
So im in the market for a jointer and thicknesser and some advice would would be very welcome. Because of my small budget and small workshop (one car garage) my options seem to be very limited.
Ive found three options for jointers if i go down the seperate machine route.
From hare and forbes either the pt-6 or the p-200h
From carbatec the jn-150c
And a dewalt dw-735xe for a thicknesser
Im happy to go a combo machine if its the best route and have so far found
Scheppach plana 3.1c from hare forbes or,
Tj-250p carbatec
I havent been able to find much info on most of these so anyone who has/had one and info/opinion would be great. Alternatively if anyone has different machines they think would be better then im keen for any advice.
Id be willing to have used machines too if options became available.
Thank for your help

G'Day Hailey, I've had the Dewalt DW735 for about 6 years, top machine.
About a year or so ago I eventually bit the bullet and upgraded the cutterhead to a Byrd Shelix Cutterhead with the result of making a good machine a great machine.
If you're down this way, I'd be happy to demo for you, Cheers, crowie

Thanks crowie.
That was my thinking with the dewalt, adding the helical head at a later date. If it wasnt such a long drive id take you up on the demo. Maybe next time

I have a one car sized shed too. I picked up a used 150mm jointer for $200. So now I'm looking for a thicknesser. In hindsight I should have probably thought it through better. A new combination machine would be a much better use of space. I'm constantly playing workshop Tetris.
There's more options of combos than you listed.
